Ramadhan So Far (part 2)

Antara ujian utama Muslim bilamana masuknya Ramadhan..Bazaar Ramadhan!
Sape yg tak sukakan bazaar, ye tak?!!
Sungguhpun terpaksa parking jauh, mahupun double-parking (lantas membuat dosa kering mengganggu laluan orang lain)...namun tetap, bazaar antara destinasi utama menjelang maghrib..

Aku tak terkecuali...
Hari pertama, aku dah redah bazaar kat Tanjung Agas (depan Sek Sains Muar)...
bayangkan naik moto pun susah nak crk parking..

Pusing punye pusing...akhirnya tiada apa yg aku beli..
Entah kenapa...mungkin sebab aku penah bagitau wife yg Ramadhan tahun ni nak cuba kurangkan berbelanja (jimat nak masuk umah baru pun ye jugak..hehe)

Hari ketiga, balik dari keje pun, aku & wife ke bazaar Ramadhan kat Sri Damansara (area Meranti)..
Hajat di hati nak carik tepung pelita (ade orang panggil kuih tako)..
yang si Qaseh jual tu (kalo korang penah nengok ceta Seputih Kasih Ramadhan le)

Sekali tu takde...last2 beli je popiah seringgit...

Kurang feel pulak tahun ni nak membeli especially lauk-pauk.
Mungkin pengalaman tahun2 lepas....rasa tak seindah rupa...

Makanye, semakin rajin le aku tolong wife aku kupas2 bawang utk memasak setiap hari...
(back up je pun...gebang je lebih...hehehe..)

Kite ni jangan kata lauk ape nak makan petang karang...

Insya-Allah...

Ramadhan So Far (part 1)

Duhai hati..

Sedarlah bahawa dirimu kelam & hitam dek dosa & noda lalu
Maka rebutlah peluang mencucinya dengan Nur Ramadhan..

Agar kembali bersinar & terus bersinar..

From the bottom of my heart..

"Ampun maaf atas segala kesalahan dari kami sekeluarga,
Mohd Zairy / EE / Ciki & isteri Nadiah / Diah / Nad"

Maksudnya; Orang yang berpuasa mengecapi dua kegembiraan, gembira ketika berbuka dan gembira ketika bertemu tuhannya.

Maksudnya; Setiap amalan manusia digandakan hingga sepuluh kali ganda, sehingga tujuh ratus kali ganda melainkan puasa, Allah berkata; ia untukKu dan Aku yang membalasnya kerana ia meninggalkan syahwatnya dan makanannya kerana Aku.

Wallahua'lam..

ramadhan
satu nasib tak serupa
peluangnya sama
natijah berbeza

ramadhan mereka gemilang cemerlang
mukmin berjasa di awal zaman
ramadhan kami malang terbuang
muslim berdosa di akhir zaman

mereka gembira kerana kedatangan mu
kami gembira dengan pemergian mu
malam mereka meriah disimbah nur al quran
tapi malam kami muram bersabung dengkur

mereka berlumba mengejar makrifat
tapi kami lesu diburu nafsu
hati mereka bercahaya digilap takwa
jiwa kami gelap didera dosa

takbir mereka takbir kemenangan
hadiah mujahadah sebulan ramadhan
takbir kami lesu tak bermaya
tanda kalah lemah tak berdaya
puasa sekadar lapar dan dahaga

Good men die young?

Entah la, masa tu aku tak amik 'pot'..

Apapun, berita kematian Ustaz Asri Ibrahim (Rabbani) cukup mengejutkan..

Banyak sekali sumbangan arwah sejak dari Nadamurni. Wife aku sampaikan tak bole tido terkenangkan arwah.
Sungguhpun tak pernah mengenali secara dekat, lagu2 dendangannya cukup menusuk kalbu..

Masa kat Maahad, masa kat UIA, selalu jugak nengok show..

Insya-Allah...

Actually I wanted to write this long time ago...

It was when the world is shocked by the demise of MJ aka Jacko.
Then, it followed by the death of Yasmin Ahmad..

Yes, too late to pay a tribute..
Even so, I do not deliberately want to talk anything on their arts whatsoever.

Few days after those mishaps took place.. I ask myself, what would it like when I no longer around?

People are talking, appreciating them only after they already died.

I remembered on the day after MJ passed away, Hot.fm played MJ songs all day long. So did Fly.fm, they had forum to listeners having their tribute.

Frankly, I am not the fan of MJ. Just knew him by the name & whatever gossips I read. That's it.
The only song I like & the clip that I still remember when I was small...

Controversy surrounds his demise is still unearth.
The only hope, he was died as Mikaeel, as a Muslim. Amin..

Also, same scenario happened when Yasmin passed away. Malaysia were also abuzz when she departed this life.
The press made it headline. Though some was 'naughty' & inappropriate.

I was her critic as well..especially on her movies.
But, as you are, I am a big fan of her TV advertisements (especially Petronas) too.
She never failed to amuse & touch our heart.

Last nite, I watched this YADK in Astro (Yasmin Ahmad Dalam Kenangan)
Then only I know that the iklan "Surat Khabar Lama" was directed by her.
And the 1st ever her commercial ad for Petronas was that "Kasut buatan Gombak"...

Anyway, again..her commercial that I remembered & touched me most is this..
(Please ignore the part of Selamat Hari Raya, it's not even Ramadhan yet!!hehehe)

Leave the curiosity alone.
May Allah forgive & bless them with Al-Jannah.
They had contributed something in their fields which were priceless.

How much have we contributed to this world?
As for me, it's nearly zero.. What a pity...

"We cannot change other people
but we can change ourselves.."

* I got a bad syndrome nowadays..
I felt wrong & guilty to people who did something wrong & bad to me..

What is wrong with me?!!

****

Hope these tips might cure the syndrome...

Wallahua'lam...

I knew it's always easier said than done.
But, you (yes you!!!) should try to stop..

No other avenue better than this coming Ramadhan..
Slowly, but surely..you may succeed..

Rawatan berhenti merokok percuma di UKM

Nafas Baru : Mulakan Dari Ramadan Al-Mubarak

As I said in line 1, it's easy, very, very easy to say than to do.
Anyway, shouldn't our loved ones deserved something they like??
My apology...

Mmm, I've lost count on my own so-called "N" countdown.
Busy? Not really..

I just got new boss last July, so practically means there were a lot of briefings, explanations & justifications, bla..bla..bla...

I supposed to jot something on Isra' Mikraj...the demise of MJ & YA, run-out Kancil and few other events which might be significant to me but not for the rest..
Well, I guess those topics went down the drain...

Never might, though...
Silence is golden, remember..

Anyway, I just read the story below.
Originally, it was a PowerPoint file. Very nice story.
Perhaps some already had read it before.
For the benefits who have not, I decided to share with you...
To be frank, I just know that hare = rabbit.. how about bunny??hehehe..also the same??
Check your dictionary, okay...

I believe, most of us still remember "kisah arnab & kura2".
Never thought the story not ended there...

Maybe..as a teacher/lecturer, you can share with your students, for parents to their children, for bosses to their sub-ordinates (vice-versa...ade beran???hehe..), even between husband & wife and so forth..

Back to my story. I took some trouble to what I do best..copy and paste. hehehe...
Hopefully there is a lesson that we can learn here..

Till then, see you again... Remind you, N is around the corner... Insya-Allah...

New Story of the Hare and Tortoise

Once upon a time a tortoise and a hare had an argument about who was faster. They decided to settle the argument with a race. They agreed on a route and started off the race.

The hare shot ahead and ran briskly for some time. Then seeing that he was far ahead of the tortoise, he thought he'd sit under a tree for some time and relax before continuing the race.

He sat under the tree and soon fell asleep. The tortoise plodding on overtook him and soon finished the race, emerging as the undisputed champ.

The hare woke up and realised that he'd lost the race.
The moral of the story is that slow and steady wins the race.

This is the version of the story that we've all grown up with.

But then recently, someone told me a more interesting version of this story. It continues.

The hare was disappointed at losing the race and he did some Defect Prevention (Root Cause Analysis). He realised that he'd lost the race only because he had been overconfident, careless and lax.

If he had not taken things for granted, there's no way the tortoise could have beaten him. So he challenged the tortoise to another race. The tortoise agreed.

This time, the hare went all out and ran without stopping from start to finish. He won by several miles.
The moral of the story.
Fast and consistent will always beat the slow and steady.

If you have two people in your organisation, one slow, methodical and reliable, and the other fast and still reliable at what he does, the fast and reliable chap will consistently climb the organisational ladder faster than the slow, methodical chap.
It's good to be slow and steady; but it's better to be fast and reliable.

But the story doesn't end here.

The tortoise did some thinking this time, and realized that there's no way he can beat the hare in a race the way it was currently formatted.

He thought for a while, and then challenged the hare to another race, but on a slightly different route.

The hare agreed. They started off. In keeping with his self-made commitment to be consistently fast, the hare took off and ran at top speed until he came to a broad river.

The finishing line was a couple of kilometers on the other side of the river.

The hare sat there wondering what to do. In the meantime the tortoise trundled along, got into the river, swam to the opposite bank, continued walking and finished the race.

The moral of the story?
First identify your core competency and then change the playing field to suit your core competency.

In an organisation, if you are a good speaker, make sure you create opportunities to give presentations that enable the senior management to notice you.

If your strength is analysis, make sure you do some sort of research, make a report and send it upstairs. Working to your strengths will not only get you noticed but will also create opportunities for growth and advancement.

The story still hasn't ended.

The hare and the tortoise, by this time, had become pretty good friends and they did some thinking together. Both realised that the last race could have been run much better.

So they decided to do the last race again, but to run as a team this time.

They started off, and this time the hare carried the tortoise till the riverbank. There, the tortoise took over and swam across with the hare on his back.

On the opposite bank, the hare again carried the tortoise and they reached the finishing line together. They both felt a greater sense of satisfaction than they'd felt earlier.

The moral of the story?
It's good to be individually brilliant and to have strong core competencies; but unless you're able to work in a team and harness each other's core competencies, you'll always perform below par because there will always be situations at which you'll do poorly and someone else does well.

Teamwork is mainly about situational leadership, letting the person with the relevant core competency for a situation take leadership.

There are more lessons to be learnt from this story.

Note that neither the hare nor the tortoise gave up after failures. The hare decided to work harder and put in more effort after his failure.

The tortoise changed his strategy because he was already working as hard as he could. In life, when faced with failure, sometimes it is appropriate to work harder and put in more effort.

Sometimes it is appropriate to change strategy and try something different. And sometimes it is appropriate to do both.

The hare and the tortoise also learnt another vital lesson. When we stop competing against a rival and instead start competing against the situation, we perform far better.

After read it again & again, I feel that this story is best shared with our bosses, isn't  it?
I will forward this e-mail to my boss tomorrow, 1st thing in the morning... :-)
