Journey to East Coast of Malaysia

24th August 08
We started the journey at 11.50am. It was 2.30pm when we reached Gambang, to attend Abg Fazil's wedding. About 2 1/2 hours with the average speed of 90km/h.. The distance? 200km++ I guess..
Lupa plak nak panggil pengantin pompuan bergambo. Org Ganu rerupanye yg Abg Fazil tackle tu.

From there we go straight to Cherating..Pretty hard to get the hotel/chalet with the best deal.. (clean room, nice view & of course free b'fast).. Luckily school holiday was just over. So the rate is a bit cheaper.

25th August 08
After took our 'heavy' breakfast.. (should I call it brunch = breakfast+lunch), we had a walk at the Cherating beach, we jumped into the pool..debuusssshhh...

Hmm, looks like she got talent in swimming..just like her father..haha..
Sorry Ummi..melentur buluh kene dari rebungnya..
Dah beso payah skt nak ajar berenang..hehehe..

After checked-out from the Suria Beach Resort, we continue our journey..heading to Terengganu.
We stopped by at Kemaman, to visit Na, Nad's roommate while in UIA. After lunch & prayer, we moved to Kuala Terengganu and arrived at 5.00pm.

Since we did not book any room, we looked around to find a hotel. I would describe Kuala Terengganu as a small, calm town..no hustle & bustle as we can see in KL or any big cities. Good place to live to those have high blood pressure.. No kidding..
After a while, we checked in at Felda Residence, newly opened hotel. Since it is new, there are a lot to complain..hehehe..

Tara..I am standing next to the "hot" car...
In the event you are not following local news, this car became a big hoo-ha recently, when the state replaced old Perdana with this E200K. Price is about RM300K ++.
Also at the same parking area, a S500 Mercedes Benz which can cost you half a million easily. That car belongs to Yang Di Pertua Negeri P.Pinang. The reason I couldn't snap that car because too many cops were around that time..hehehe..

26th August 08
Actually we decided to prolong the stay should the hotel is good enough.
No offence, but the room is so small, I couldn't bring in Amierah's 'buai'..

Happened to be the hotel we booked is even worse..hehehe..
Terengganu Equestrian Resort.. the main reason we booked here is to learn how to ride a horse.
However, the room allocated for us is at 3rd floor & there is no lift!!

So, at the end we checked in at Primula Beach Resort.
We are fortunate to be placed at this room. It is facing the garden & beach. The sound & wind of South China Sea are really relaxing.

Oh, the reason for this trip to happen is because my wife need to attend Deputy Registrar & Senior Assistant Registrar Conference.. That begins on 26th until 28th. So, here I am with Amierah in the hotel room for 3 days..
It's a good experience to be a Mr. Mama, except that I didn't cook. Hehehe.. While Amierah is sleeping, I will surf the Net. When she wakes up, it's time to feed & clean her up..

29th August 08
Shopping time!!!People who never been to KT, one place you cannot miss is Pasar Payang. After bought 'some' souvenirs for our families, we also been to Kg. Losong, the only place you can find keropok losong. It is one type of keropok lekor, it's just the taste that is slightly better. We've also been to Bazar Warisan. In the evening, we went to Seberang Takir to visit old friend Azie.
Best leave the shopping to women - Ciki

We departed from KT at about 8pm & arrived in Muar at 2am. About 6 hours journey which covered 450km. The most horrible routes are Gambang-Segamat & Segamat-Tangkak. Alhamdulillah..we safely reached home.

Tiring Weekend

Fuh, I wonder how politicians can walk all days & nights campaigning during the election..
I must ask what kind of Tongkat Ali they are taking...
(we are in the mood of by-election, don't we?)
anyway, I am really tired of thinking about it..leave them alone..

Maybe due to my condition, my body somehow still couldn't cope with the rush..

On Friday, we went back to Johor, to send my father-in-law as well as to visit my sis-in-law (K.Long), who was admitted to Muar Hospital 2 days after delivered her 3rd baby..Luckily everything is just doing fine.
Finally, the 6th grandchild from Nad's side is a boy..A thorn among 5 roses..hehehe.. Sadly, we still couldn't have a look at the baby. He is still in the intensive care, due to suspected Chikunya virus.(Do I spell it correctly??Sounds something like that)

On Saturday morning, after pay K.Long a visit again, we rushed back to KL to attend a wedding in Bangi.

Congratulations to Zariman & Shifa..Do remember us when you live your living in UK then.

The day not ended, however. We got unexpected guests, who came all the way from JB, stop off to visit Amierah..before continue the journey to Kuala Kangsar the day after.. It's nearly midnight when we picked them up from Pudu.

On Sunday, we supposed to go to 2 weddings. One in Kajang, the other in Seremban. (Sorry Anne, we couldn't make it..)
After sending our guests to Jln Duta station, we rushed to Seremban. Luckily the food was still there when we arrived at 3.30pm.

Congratulations Nurman & Adella. Ade tokoh parent mithali..hehehe

While waiting for my sis-in-law from Muar (we suppose to pick her at Seremban R&R), we went to Jusco Seremban 2 for a window shopping. Not window I guess...coz the boot full when we went back!! It's a therapy, according to my wife..hehe..

This is the most tricky part..After sent my sis-in-law to USIM in Nilai, we were caught in between..whether to watch Olympic badminton final (for non-Malaysians..it is between Lee Chong Wei & Lin Dan) at mamak stall here or to watch in KL, back in our own house..

Luckily the traffic in not that bad. (I really won't speedy if I know the result..~sigh~)
One good thing, however, that night also I discovered that my car can reach up to 160km/j, still with accelerator to press. Maybe I can test what's the maximum speed some other day. Hopefully no speed trap that night.. :-)

One Day in IJN

Hi All,

Oleh kerana semalam aku gi IJN utk bwk pak mertua aku buat treatment, ade eloknye aku berkongsi sikit ilmu2 yg aku dpt setelah seharian berkampung di sana.

Masalah jantung ni kebiasaannye disebabkan coronary arteries, ade 3 salur utama yg pam darah dari & ke jantung..
Biasanye disebabkan arteri yg tersumbat or salur sempit. (arteri ni urat la kot kalo ikut bahasa pasar..)
Kalo anda or kerabat2 anda ade mengadu sakit dada..maka jgn dibiarkan tanpa rawatan doktor. Tu antara simptom2 sakit jantung..(antara lainnye tangan lenguh & sakit rahang gigi).

Ade 3 situasi bile masalah ni dtg:-

Situasi 1
kalo salur sempit tapi tak kritikal..doktor akan bagi ubat cairkan darah & ubat2 yg lain..utk make sure tidak berlaku ape2 masalah pada jantung

Situasi 2
salur sempit di banyak tempat & pengambilan ubat tak mencukupi utk memperbaiki keadaan. untuk masalah ni, doktor akan masukkan tiub (balloon) yg berfungsi membesarkan kawasan2 yg sempit tu.

Situasi 3
bile salur hampir tersumbat or proses 'ballooning' jugak tak bole nak rectify masalah ni, pintasan jantung or nama glamernye bypass akan dibuat. ikut yg aku paham, doktor akan amik arteri dr buku lali utk dimodify saluran yg bermasalah tu.. (info: Tun Mahathir dah byk kali buat bypass. Tan Sri Dr. Yahya yg rawat die skrg kat Damansara Specialist. masa aku warded, ade sekali tu Mahathir dtg jumpe Dr. ni. agaknye KPJ offer gaji mahal, psl tu die cabut dari IJN..hehehe)

So, pak mertua aku disahkan Dr. Shaiful Azmi (baca betul2..bukan Shaiful Bukhari!!) berada di situasi 2. Syukur la tak kene belah dada utk buat bypass..ngeri gak mendengarnye....

Antara nasihat2 doktor yg kene dipertimbangkan...
pertama-tamanya, JANGAN MEROKOK..

kemudiannye, kurangkan pengambilan makanan2 yg berminyak, berlemak & sebagainya..pendek kata yg tinggi kolestrol..kolestrol yg jdk punca salur tersumbat tu..

then, amalkanlah bersenam selalu..

Cheers.. :-)

Adab Tetamu

Artikel dlm Berita Minggu 10 Ogos lalu agak menarik perhatian aku. Tajuknye
Penyamun Bermusim. Bukannye ape, aku ade pengalaman disamun gak oleh tetamu masa wedding aku. Mujurlah cuma RM50 yg dicilok dr wallet aku. Tgh dressing baju pengantin, aku letak le wallet dlm bilik. Tak sangka ade pemerhati bebas kat umah aku tu.. Wallahua'lam sape punye keje. Apapun, aku dah halalkan pun. :-)

Kebetulan pulak skrg ni berpusu2 kawan2 nak naik pelamin sempena cuti sekolah. Ada baiknye kite berjaga2 dgn 'tetamu2 yg tak diundang ni'. Sayugia diingat tetamu2 yg diundang pun bole gak buat keje ni.. Maka seeloknya pastikan jgn dibiarkan barang2 berharga dibiarkan unattended..

Nak dipanjangkan ceta, sejak bebas dari pengaruh dadah (chemotherapy daa..hehehe), aku semakin rajin kembali ke habit lama..berjalan2 & bersiar2..
Alhamdulilah, lepas blk dr Johor ziarah mak ayah, atuk nenek,
minggu seterusnya jelajah PC Fair kat KLCC, menjengah MacBook Apple yg menjadi idaman kalbu sekian lama..
Last week plak, start berziarah umah atuk sedara & auntie sedara (tp lg muda dr aku!!) buat house warming
(Thanks for the delicious bubur kacang durian, Tok Safi & Syadha, for those lovely foods..rugi tak tapau!!)

Next week onwards yg mencabar travelling skill aku, berderet2 wedding invitation..
Shifa/Zariman, Nurman/Adella, Dute/Asip (yg ni Aqiqah bukan kawen..hehe), Abg Padil..ni geng2 UIA, Anne/Rosli (ex-schoolmate Tun Perak), Has/Hakeem (ex-colleague PwC)..

Since dulu aku penah tulis tentang Adab Tuan Rumah, sebagai timbal balik, berikut sedikit sebanyak adab2 tetamu yg kadang2 kite terlepas pandang..
Mudah-mudahan jadik panduan bersama...

8th day of 8th month in 2008 (08.08.08)

Well, for some people.. today will mark special occasion for them, just like last year on 07.07.07.
Be it their wedding, new born baby, engagement or any other events. I read in newspaper, a lot of people around the globe.. Singapore, China, Russia etc are getting married today.. Even in Malaysia it will be no difference..

Wait, my friend Nurul Rahman aka Nurman will have the aqad nikah tonite!! Congrats to you bro..
As what I spoke to you last nite, remember the main objective of the marriage. Insya-Allah all difficulties will be smoothed over..

As for Chinese, number 8 is considered as a lucky number. So no wonder when they decided that opening ceremony for the Olympic Games will start at 8:08:08 o'clock on 08.08.08. Wow, too much of 8 huh??

Now, how about unlucky number?
Have you experience going to a building & there is no such 4th floor, or Block 4?

I somehow wonder how their come out with the methodology to determine which is lucky & which is not..

Numbers is something special, the sentimental value which other people might not see or feel.
Lucky number for one might be unlucky for other..So, what's your lucky number??

For me, every number is a lucky number.. that's why it exists..
Make any sense? No? No problem..

Anwar pleads not guilty (Update 2)
By M. MAGESWARI

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim pleaded not guilty to sodomising his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan over a month ago.

The party's de facto leader is accused of committing the offence at Desa Damansara Condominium in Jalan Setiakasih, Bukit Damansara, between 3.01pm and 4.30pm on June 26.

If convicted, he can be jailed up to 20 years and whipped for voluntarily committing unnatural sex under Section 377B of the Penal Code.

Saiful, 23, of Damansara, had lodged a complaint on June 28 over the alleged incident.

When his name was called to face the charge at 10.10am Thursday, Anwar, who turns 61 on Sunday, smiled and walked slowly to the dock.

Upon hearing the contents of his sodomy charge, Anwar said, "It is a malicious slander and a betrayal. I am not guilty," he told Sessions Court judge S.M.Komathy Suppiah in the packed courtroom.

Solicitor-General Datuk Idrus Harun, who led a four-man prosecution team, asked the court to set a mention date pending an application to transfer the case to the High Court if needed.

Lead counsel Sulaiman Abdullah asked the prosecution to express their stand if they are opposing bail for his client.

"We are applying for Datuk Seri (Anwar) to be released on personal bond," he said.

To this, S-G Idrus said the prosecution offered bail of RM20,000 in one surety with a condition that Anwar surrendered his passport to the court.

S-G Idrus said the court had to consider that the offence was non-bailable and serious.

Sulaiman said the nine-man defence team would oppose on the condition over the passport.

"In the circumstances here, with Anwar contesting for the (Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat) and he has strong possibility of going to Parliament, it is inconceivable that he would not turn up in court for his case," he said.

The counsel asked the court to consider that Anwar had a record of long service and public standing in the Government and that his client had co-operated with the authorities during investigations for the case.

"There is no likelihood of him not turning up in court. There is no evidence provided by the prosecution to show that my client will not appear in court at the relevant date to answer his charge later," he said.

Sulaiman said the judge has discretion under Section 388(2) of the Criminal Procedure Code to grant a personal bond in view of special circumstances of the case and his client.

"Anwar has been on police bail since July 17. It is a non-cash bail and he had turned up in court today to answer his charge today.

"To impose a bail of RM20,000 is needlessly insulting to the accused on the presumption of innocence. The court should exercise its judicial discretion to eliminate any traces of a political trial," he contended.

Komathy then asked investigating officer Asst Supt Jude Pereira, who is also Brickfields CID chief, if Anwar was co-operative during the probe of the case. To which, ASP Pereira said "Yes".

Komathy asked S-G Idrus on his view over the bond and if there is any possibility of Anwar absconding or tampering with the witnesses.

S-G Idrus replied, "It is difficult to say but the possibility is always there".

In response, Sulaiman said the case was an ideal one to grant a bond to let Anwar know that the law is on his side and he could go on with his personal battle.

"This is a rare case but of course the second or third time," he said which drew laughter from those seated in the public gallery. Anwar also smiled.

Komathy then released Anwar on a personal bond of RM20,000 without surety.

"I do not think there is any likelihood of Anwar absconding," said the judge before asking Anwar if his birthday is on Sunday.

Anwar smiled and replied "Yes" and thanked the judge for the bond, to which all his supporters in the courtroom clapped their hands and cheered loudly.

Komathy set Sept 10 for mention.

Speaking to reporters later, Anwar who signed his bond papers at 11.12am, said his case is not a normal case and that the defence would apply to get a copy of police report on the allegations against him.

Anwar said there was lack of evidence in his case and he would fight for his acquittal.

"The Prime Minister says rape, the police report was not given to me, the doctor says assault and the charge says consensual," he said.

He also asked why Saiful was not charged for the offence.

"Just imagine if Saiful had to sit in the same dock with me," he winked and laughed aloud.

He also said that he was always teased and advised by his friends that he should learn a lesson not to have a "young, smart and handsome man around me".

"I was told that I couldn’t bring a pretty girl. She (his wife Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail) will object. I cannot bring a young man or an old man. I can only bring an 80-year-old woman in a wheelchair. I will be safe. If it's a pretty girl, Azizah will strangle me," he laughed again.

Anwar's defence team was led by Sulaiman Abdullah. His other lawyers are Sankara Nair, R. Sivarasa, Saiful Izham Ramli, Amer Hamzah, Edmund Bon and Leela J. Jesuthasan.

Penang Chief Minister and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and his father, party adviser Lim Kit Siang, were among those who were present in court when the PKR adviser arrived in court at about 9.40am, accompanied by his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and daughter Nurul Izzah.

There had been heavy police presence, including FRU units, unformed policemen and those in plainclothes, at the complex since 6.30am.

Security was tight at the entrance of the court complex with policemen taking down identity card numbers of those going in.

A crowd of Anwar's supporters had also been steadily growing at the court from 7am, as roadblocks set up at roads leading to the Jalan Duta court complex and surrounding areas caused massive jams.

I won't elaborate further on the article coz I aware & fully respect that everyone of us is in either side (or perhaps on the fence).

I just hope that at the end.. the truth will prevail, insya-Allah...

What make me interested in this article actually on several points mentioned above.

Firstly, the fact that at 7.30am in the morning, I was one of many who witnessed the massive presence of FRU & Police. Since I never join any demo before (due to request from my mom), I would describe the atmosphere is something like opening ceremony of Olympic Games which going to be held in KL Court Complex. It was my intention to fetch my wife to work, so that I can see the scenery. However, I can't wait until 10am coz I need to go to IJN afterwards to accompany my father-in-law who has an appointment at 9am this morning.

Starting from Masjid Wilayah junction, every junction has been occupied by photographers.. At the parking bay, there are at least 3-4 tracks of FRU. Every single visitor has to register at the police counter (poor policemen who are tasked to the job, their hands & fingers must be really tired by the end of the day!!)

Secondly, my wife was once interviewed by the Solicitor-General in series of interview sessions, who is now leading the prosecution team in this case. On the first impression, he is a pious & humble guy. Who knows, if he can lead panel of prosecutors to a victory, he might be our next Attorney-General!! Victory? Hmmm, no comment...

Thirdly, I am writing this post at cafeteria while waiting for my wife. At this moment, there are still a lot of photographers, journalists & policemen around. Suddenly I feel like switching my career into journalism.. hehehe..

P/S: At IJN this afternoon, somebody dubbed me as Raja Petra..haha..
Anyway, I don't have any plan to become a blogger like him, not to that extent!! Seriously.. :-)

MRR2 Oh MRR2

Pagi Ahad 3 Ogos, kebetulan masa nak hantar adik ipar aku ke Kepong Sentral.. aku lalu la bawah flyover MRR2 tu.

Masa tu ketulan2 batu berselerak atas jalan, aku dah suspek mesti MRR2 buat hal lagi.
Photographer plak berpusu2 nak amik shot terbaik utk paper masing2..
Mujur la jalan tak jem, tapi polis dah sibuk letak kon tutup jalan..

Ikutkan hati, memang le nak busybody (sifat semulajadi rakyat Malaysia). Kita slowkan keta nak nengok keta eksiden or keta rosak or even keta yg takde ape2 masalah yg berhenti tepi jalan...Standard la tu.

Tapi oleh kerana aku demam 2-3 hari ni, niat tu dibatalkan aje. Kalo tak, for sure batang hidung aku akan kelihatan di tepi kren tu..hahaha

Nengok la mamat2 motor tu.. Bukan main usha lagi, kalo nak tolong repair takpe gak!!

Sebagai regular user MRR2, memang satu penderitaan kalo flyover MMR tu ditutup, even satu lane.
Kalo tutup semua & kene lalu bawah..masa tu la terasa nak beli helikopter sebijik..

2 tahun lepas, masa kes pertama MMR2 tutup dlm 4 bulan..antara mangsa keadaan adalah wife aku.
Berulang dari Bdr Sri Damansara ke Wangsa Maju, MMR2 tu je la jalan yg ada.
Natijahnye, setiap hari aku berbuka sorang2 & wife aku kene buka posa dlm keta..
Hopefully, Ramadhan nanti dah OK.
Walaupun kami skrg dah bole skip MRR2 tu, pasti ramai lagi yg bakal berbuka dalam keta kalo repair tu makan masa berbulan2.

P/S: Samy Vellu goyang kaki kali ni, takyah susah2 lagi nak menjawab pada press.. :-)
